Questions about the kit
Something not covered here? Email info@flexaderm.xyz and we reply within 1 business day.
Is this a medical diagnosis?
No. FlexaDerm records the cosmetic condition of the skin surface: pH, sebum, scaling and magnified images. It does not diagnose eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis or any other condition. If a client shows signs of one, refer them to a dermatologist.
What equipment do I need besides the kit?
A Windows 11 PC, a Mac on macOS 13 or later, or an iPad on iPadOS 17 or later for the app. The microscope connects by USB-C or its own Wi-Fi. No lab equipment is needed.
How long does one assessment take?
About 10 minutes of hands-on time for four zones, plus the 20-minute rest after cleansing. Many studios run the rest period during the intake consultation.
How many assessments do consumables cover?
A Refill 30 ($59) covers 30 four-zone assessments: 120 pH strips, 120 sebum films and 120 tape samplers. Unopened consumables keep for 18 months stored below 77 °F.
Can it measure TEWL or hydration?
No. TEWL (transepidermal water loss, in g/h/m²) needs a dedicated evaporimeter such as a closed-chamber or open-chamber meter. If your studio already has one, the app has fields to record its readings next to the kit results.
Where are client images stored, and can I delete them?
Records stay in the app on your device, encrypted at rest. You can export them as PDF and CSV or delete a client in one step. If you sent us any files for support, we delete them within 7 days of your request.
How do ordering, shipping and returns work?
Email us the kit and shipping address and we reply with an invoice within 1 business day. Kits ship within 3 business days of payment. Returns follow our refund policy.
What does the warranty cover?
The FD-M1 microscope is covered for 12 months from delivery against defects. We repair or replace it. Consumables are single-use and not covered once opened.
